What do people say?

"Cute and very much an English style regency, The Virtuous Cyprian is a delightful tale of a masquerade gone awry and will delight ardent regency readers." - Romantic Times Magazine, June 2001.

"A witty, hilarious romp through the Regency period." Rendezvous Magazine.

"THE VIRTUOUS CYPRIAN is a promising, fast paced and original read.  Ms. Cornick certainly has done her research on Regency England, and her writing shows promising talent." Romance Reviews Today

Nicola's Notes

The Virtuous Cyprian was inspired by browsing through the deeds of my parents’ Georgian house in Suffolk.  I read all about copy-holding, the process by which a tenant could petition the Lord of the Manor to inherit the lease of a house.  It made me realise how much of a stir it would cause in a little country village if an unexpected character – a courtesan, for instance – suddenly inherited a property there.  Add the twist of twin sisters, one a bluestocking and the other an infamous cyprian, plus one very charismatic Lord of the Manor, and you have The Virtuous Cyprian…
