Rachel and Cory want different things in life. Rachel detests the travelling that has always been a part of her parents' profession. To Cory the quest for adventure is as necessary as breathing. Nicola's Notes

The site of the ship burial at Sutton Hoo in Suffolk is a hauntingly atmospheric place. It was a visit to Sutton Hoo on a frosty February morning that made me want to set a book around an archaeological excavation.  With the cold mist rising from the river and the white fronds of the reeds stirring in the breeze, it was easy to believe that the ghosts of the past were stirring...

The Notorious Lord was published in August 2004 in the UK and in July 2005 in the US. It was reprinted in the UK in a 2-in-1 volume with The Last Rake in London in May 2008.
