Reviews:

This was Nicola's first UK Top 50 Fiction Bestseller!

"Skilfully crafted, this is a refreshing Regency Romance..." Romantic Times Magazine

"The Chaperone Bride is a fun romance, with excellent characters, and an exciting plot. Nicola Cornick's use of history is wonderful. She has a flair for writing intriguing tales with characters that stand out, and with The Chaperone Bride her skill holds true. I love characters with spirit and none of the characters in The Chaperone Bride disappoint. Her characters pull you into their world and hold you there." Rakehell

The Chaperone Bride  is a fun look at the life of a chaperon denying herself love and a life of her own. Although not written as comedy, this story had many humorous moments in it, and also a touch of the mystery to it.  Ms. Cornick has an entrancing way with words that leaves you waiting in anticipation for her next release! This is a wonderful addition to my collection, and I give it a place of honor—of course leaving a space next to it, that waits for the next in line of her books. About the book

Annis Wycherley earns her living as a chaperone to the daughters of the Ton so when a handsome lord starts to take an interest in her rather than her charges she knows she cannot encourage his advances. Any breath of scandal will be the end of her reputation and her business.

Lord Adam Ashwick has no interest in the debutantes but he finds the widowed Lady Wycherley enchanting.  Against a background of Regency elegance and rural poverty, Adam determines to make the chaperone his bride...

Nicola's Notes

I am a Yorkshire girl so I returned to my roots to set The Chaperon Bride in my home county.

The Chaperon Bride was published in April 2003 in the UK and in February 2004 in the USA.
