Lady Polly is the sequel to The Virtuous Cyprian. and features some of the characters from Miss Verey's Proposal It is another old flames story. Polly Seagrave is a typical debutante, privileged and protected.  Although she is flattered by the attentions of Henry Marchnight, a notorious rake, she is too immature to have any deep feelings for him.  Five years later, however, she is all too aware of what she has so carelessly thrown away…
